Stories from us

Sertan Çelik

Student at Istanbul University Law School

I am a sophomore at Istanbul University Law School. I graduated from Science High School, and I am originally from Çanakkale, but when I started university in Istanbul my mother and I relocated here.

How were you first introduced to Vehbi Koç Foundation, and what was your connection?
As I was enrolling in the university in 2014, I had filled out an application form. When the school opened, I received an email inviting me to an interview. I did the interview, and later got the call informing me that I was granted scholarship! This is how I met VKV.

What are your future plans and goals?
After graduation, I want to pursue a master’s or Ph. D. degree, and in the long run my goal is to become a successful international academician.

What is VKV’s place in your life?
I am new to this family but VKV not only provides financial support but also makes me feel like part of the family, which I want to be throughout my education. And after graduation, I hope I can do whatever I can to help VKV family grow.
