Turkey Social Entrepreneurship Network by Vehbi Koç Foundation in Collaboration with The Directorate For EU Affairs

Vehbi Koç Foundation launched the Turkey Social Entrepreneurship Network Project in collaboration with the Directorate for EU Affairs, a department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Turkey. Funded by the European Union and Republic of Turkey within the scope of the Civil Society Support Programme, Turkey Social Entrepreneurship Network aims to spread the culture of social entrepreneurship across Turkey and to develop an ecosystem.

The project was introduced at a meeting at Koç Holding with Faruk Kaymakcı, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs & Director for EU Affairs, Erdal Yıldırım, President of Vehbi Koç Foundation, İrşadi Aksun, Vice President for Research&Development at Koç University, Zeynep Gürhan Canlı, Dean of College of Administrative Sciences & Economics at Koç University, and ministry officials, representatives from NGOs and private sector, social entrepreneurs and project partners in attendance.

As part of the 24 month lasting project activities:
- a research will be conducted to determine the potential for social entrepreneurship in chosen cities;
- capacity development activities will be organized through trainings and sources to citizens who hold social - -entrepreneurial skills and qualifications;
- an online platform for social entrepreneurship will be set for empowered dialogue among stakeholders.

Project’s social impact will be measured by partner universities and KUSIF.
