Abadan Awards in Social Sciences and Law
Established as an interdisciplinary hub for gender and women’s studies, The Center for Gender Studies at Koç University (KOÇ-KAM) launched the KOÇ-KAM Abadan Awards in 2017. The award program aims to encourage outstanding scholars in post-graduate studies in social sciences and law. The annual award will be presented in the name of Prof. Yavuz Abadan or Prof. Nermin Abadan Unat in alternating years.
The Center’s Founder and Director Çiğdem Kağıtçıbaşı, Professor of Psychology at Koç University has unfortunately passed away last March, in whose name UNESCO Chair on Gender Equality and Sustainable Development was established recently.
