Asst. Prof. Erdem Yörük Receives ERC Grant
Asst. Prof. Erdem Yörük of Koç University’s Sociology Department has received the European Research Council (ERC) Starting Grant worth 1.5 million euro for his project “The New Politics of Welfare: Towards a new Welfare State Regime in Emerging Markets”. The project focusing on the social and political status in several economies is the first of its kind to receive an ERC Grant in the field of Sociology in Turkey. To date, more than half of the projects awarded with ERC Grants belong to KU researchers (9 out of 16 projects).
