Koç University

Koç University is rapidly becoming a world university.

Koç University was established by Vehbi Koç Foundation in year 1993 with the objective  to increase the quality of higher education and raise well-equipped and well-educated individuals with broad perspective. Since then, it has become one of the prominent universities of Turkey. With its mission of serving as a “Center of Excellence”, Koç University brings together talented youngsters and distinguished scientists to contribute to the development of science with a universal view.

Scientific Contributions
The academic staff of Koç University includes a large number of people, who are members of the Turkish Academy of Sciences (TUBA), the supreme board of science in Turkey. Koç University has been listed among the top 251-300 band of world universities and its academic members are regularly awarded  prestigious prizes for their research work, both nationally and internationally.

Campus
Established on an area of 25 hectares in Istanbul, Rumeli Feneri Campus of Koç University covers a total of 60 buildings, including faculty buildings, laboratories, library, dormitories, lodging, sports and social facilities. The University also has campuses at Istinye (Management Training and Meeting Center), Topkapı (School of Nursing and Faculty of Medicine) and Beyoglu (Research Center for Anatolian Civilizations).

Research Centers and Laboratories
Koç University contributes to the improvement of universal knowledge  and creates an impact on the intellectual, technological, economic and social development in Turkey through its 8 research centers, 2 research forums and 77 laboratories.

Koç University Hospital 

Koç University Hospital was opened in September 2014 as the teaching and research hospital of the Koç University Medicine School which started its first academic year in 2010–2011. The hospital occupies a total area of 220,000 m2 and includes general, pediatric and oncology hospital groups as well as 400 patient rooms, 77 ICUs, 88 observation rooms, 250 outpatient rooms and 13 operating rooms. Campus buildings belonging to Koç University School of Medicine and School of Nursing as well as lodgings, social areas and nursing student accommodation are also located on the premises.

Koç University Hospital started to accept patients into its Genetic Diagnosis Center, IVF Clinic, and Adult Bone Marrow Transplantation Center in 2016. Hospital services are available to both private and public health insurance patients.
