EÇADEM supports disabled children and their families
Koç University Support Center for the Disabled Children and Their Families (EÇADEM) carries on to provide care and consultancy services for the disabled children, as well as their mothers and siblings to preserve family unity, and to improve their quality of life. The center helps disabled children develop self-care skills and improve their self-care capabilities.
Planned by Koç University’s College of Nursing, Department of Pediatric Nursing academics, the Ministry of Development and Istanbul Development Agency, and to be managed in partnership with Sarıyer Municipality and Boğaziçi Association for the Disabled, EÇADEM aims to support the cognitive, physical, psychological and social development of disabled children, as well as to alleviate the load of the mothers to ensure they can also create time for their other children and spouses and as a result to improve quality of life for all family members. The center opened in December 2014.
