Koç Elementary Schools
On the occasion of the 75th anniversary of the Turkish Republic, the Vehbi Koç Foundation decided to build thirteen elementary schools across Turkey in support of eight-year mandatory education. All thirteen schools were transferred to the Ministry of Education in 1999. However, the foundation continues to care for these schools under the notion of “build, transfer, look after”. The project was further extended to seventeen schools with the addition of the Beyazıt Ford Otosan Elementary School in 2006, the Kocaeli Ford Otosan Elementary School in 2007, the Diyarbakır Bağlar Elementary School and Diyarbakır Kayapınarı Elementary School in 2008.
