All lectures at the Koç University School of Nursing are provided by doctorally prepared faculty who are renowned experts in their field of study. Its teaching approach is evidence-based and focuses on health promotion, disease prevention, community development and high quality acute care competencies. Nursing students take a two-year core programme course and start training for nursing in the third year. Vocational training courses are in Turkish but supported by an intensive English language programme. Since 2001, the School of Nursing is housed in a modern new building located in Nişantası. The school’s state of-the-art facilities include lecture rooms with the latest audio-visual equipment, science laboratories, a nursing skills laboratory, a gymnasium, cafeteria, an auditorium, and student lounges - all of which are designed to provide an environment that is conducive to learning and teaching. Students are given unlimited Internet access and electronic library resources. The school also provides a strong English language programme with highly qualified and committed English language instructors and a well-equipped health sciences library. |
